I just got photoshop to take my banner making to the next step, and it's totaly different from gimp 2.6. I'm starting to get used to it and i'm going to keep updating this post more often so you can see my progression with photoshop.

EDIT: I'm already starting to get used to it, here are some of my banners so far used with photoshop!

That may be so, but i'm making my own backgrounds now instead of finding them off google. So now it's going to be much easier to choose what kind of colors i want. Photoshop is just a better program in general.

Why just a normal white text? (Do you use photoshop elements?)

No, i use "adobe photoshop cs5 extended".
