I'm pretty sure that that only applies to pop ups...

Well it depends on what you have.
For instance, AdBlock Plus for Firefox blocks ads that are within web pages as well as popups.
I'm sure there are many other addons and such that do the same thing, for other browsers.

I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials... I doubt that is it though..

What theme are you using?

I'm using the Curve theme too and I don't have them. Some of my other ones are using BlackBox, but I don't check them that often. Most of them are only made for the names. =D
