After about 8 months of being gone I finally want to try Blitz. During those 8 months, however, I have not used anything that requires Java. So today I update Java, JRE, and JDK. After everything seems all nice and updated I go download the cache and try to play Blitz. The only problem is that Java is using 100% of my CPU, making it impossible to play.
To try and fix this I have tried:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Java.
- Manually updating Java.
- Reinstalling JDK.
- Ending every unnecessary process except Firefox and Java.
- Trying the downloadable client.
- ?
- Profit.
Nothing seems to work. Help would be appreciated.
What sort of computer you running?
And tell me some specs?
Well, frankly it's a POS.
HP Pavilion a720n
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 2.20 GHz
With about 1GB of RAM.
It was capable of playing Java games the last time I tried.

Erm... Computer re-boot...?
Done several times.
If nothing works I'll just have to install an OS on my spare HD and use that. :\
It's just a bug, This happens to everyone from time to time, Just give it an hour or two then it should be working.
It didn't go away...
I just ended up upgrading to Windows 7.
Haha, Did you go out and buy it or did you already have it?

does it matter he solved the problem?
Does matter, he hasn't even solved it, I had the same problem, I was waiting ages for the client, still did not load.
I restarted my laptop and it worked fine.
Try opening the task manager and killing the Java process using a lot of the CPU.
I did that, but it just made new ones that used the same amount of memory. Doesn't really matter since I have a new OS that Java runs fine on.
I just waited for Ryan to update the login system. I cleaned out other parts of my computer, but what Ryan did was the major part.
Try the game now, I believe we fixed the 100% CPU issue.
It's still happening to me..

Kill the Java process that is using 100% CPU.
I'm not on my laptop right now, but when I was a half hour ago it wasn't loading.
still at 100%
keep trying

Do NOT bump old topics. Can't you see the last post was December 2010?
