Title: How to configure a client for Mac OS X 10.4.11
Post by: I K T P Q on October 19, 2008, 07:02:20 PM
Hello, Ry, Jeremy and others...
I need to configure a client so I can play it on my Mac.
It doesn't have any run.jar it only has run.bat and of course, you can't play batch files on Macintosh. So, any answers? Thanks.

First, open Terminal, then type
cd
and drag the client folder onto the Terminal window. It will insert the path to the folder into Terminal. For example, I get this:
cd /Users/ry60003333/Downloads/New\ AllGoFree\ Client
Then hit enter. It should change to that directory, so it should read something like this:
Rys-Macbook:New AllGoFree Client ry60003333$
Except with your computer name and username.
Then paste this into Terminal and hit enter, and the client will run:
java -jar -Xmx128M AllGoFree_RS_Client.jar 10 0 highmem members 0 www.allgofree.org

;)

One little problem... I tried my hardest to find the Terminal, then I realised I don't have one. How do I get one? :-[
Thanks,

I K T P Q Thanks for the help!

Just use Spotlight to search for it. Or, open the Applications folder, and in there is a folder called Utilities. Open that, and Terminal is in there.

Alright, I have the .jar file and it looks like this. (http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/Rampant_Skiller/Picture9.png)
It didn't come with a folder or anything so it didn't change into a directory.
Now, when I open it, it says this. (http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/Rampant_Skiller/Picture5-1.png) This has happened every time I have tried to open it.
I did what it said and went into to Console. This is what it had to say:

Now, this is very important because I will be an EPIC FAIL if I cannot open this file. So, thanks, I K T P Q.

I'm not sure why it won't work. Are you sure all the class files are in the Jar? Try running it from Terminal with java -jar.

Well it started to work but it always says fatal loading error... I have tried like 15 times, i even re-loaded the client.. do you think it is because I am using a powerbook that does not have intel... Or maybe ill try looking for a new java download.. Btw I have the latest version of mac running software, so i doubt that is the problem anyways if you have any ideas please respond... Thanks :P

I don't think its because you don't have a intel. Cause I run a AMD, but then again..i built my computer, and that I use Windows not Mac. It might just be the system MAC it self.... Just on my opinion, I think you can do more with Windows, than what you can do with a MAC, including the Mac G-5
