This has been suggested a number of times. Worldscape has an IRC chat but it's not used.
I think it'd be a good idea though.. :)
Most of us use skype anyway.

i know we have the IRC chat, but others have to be logged on to use that, and you have to get a whole new page. this idea is just simplyfying everything. ;D ;D
