It is because you have a high post count, everytime you get a new name for the post count, like barrows poster,
you get more stars, well they're squares for me since I use the old theme.
That's why Partyhat posters have so many stars.

It's because he has a custom title.
The bottom line is the more posts you have the more stars you have, Unless you're subjected to a custom group.
