Question about Mint cakes

Hey guys, just a quick question.. After the Event is over and everything, will the mint cakes still work? Because I saved presents from the Christmas event and I can't open them anymore. :'( Just seeing if this will be the situation so I can eat them now. (Instead of saving and being 'rare' like eager egg(bunny one))
