They're not pointless, they look alright actually. Plus they're semi-rare too.

nothing from this boss will be rare very soon. If they want a rare item, they need to make the drop like 1/10k chance

Yeah, I wish that the drops were a lot, lot more rare than they are. I know that everyone would rage (including me) but at least the items would be rare. They certainly won't be common, but they aren't going to be that rare either.
