Throwawayaccount

Today, I woke up, did nothing, went to a cousins football game, and came back and stumbled upon some old pictures in my E-Mail account. They were from an old server I helped administrate back in '09, called LippScape. I went through these and thought of WS, and kind of realized that the first post I made wasn't really fleshed out or organized in anyway, shape, or  form. I'm going to try to include a full account of what's occurred in my time on RS, WS, and the various private servers I've joined.

NOTE: I haven't played WS since January, when I basically made a bot account to get 135 rc/mining first. I am by no means a good person and don't try to portray myself as such. A lot of my actions have caused others to be IP Banned, banned, or banned on the forums. I admit to all the bad things I've done to the community, whether well-intended or not.

RuneScape - 2007

While I honestly can't pinpoint a single date, I've been able to pinpoint my one and only RS accounts creation, SerGuy3, to March 15-20th, 2007. A neighbor of mine, Matt, had been playing under the name PieMan158 and had shown me the game. I originally didn't take much too it. All he did was cook bread, which didn't really sound appealing to me. So, when asked if I wanted an account, I said no. I watched as both my brother and Matts brother registered accounts and played in 30 minute intervals, completely facsinated by the game. They would click, and see the world react, and over that night, I felt more and more regret for not registering. The following day, Matt came over, and I asked him to make me one. Don't ask how, but I chose SerGuy(He spelled it wrong, not me.) That wasn't available, so SerGuy3 it was. (My current name is Aldol, however, I've quit and moved on to Reddit). After registration, I logged on, and I stepped into the world I'd live in for the next 5 years.

The world was, in short, absolutely magical. I remember chopping down my first tree, catching my first fish, my first scorpion, and getting my first runes. Everyday after school, my brother and I would get off the bus and race home, in hopes of getting on to the computer first. We would stay on for about 30 minutes, and switch, doing this for about 3-11 PM every day after school. On weekends and the summer, it'd be 11-11. We didn't actually do anything important, and upon looking back, we were both really shitty. I would mine a full inventory of coal and iron, go to Lumbridge, smelt it, walk back to Varrock, make it all into platebodies, and sell them at the General Store.

After about a week of play, a new "event" was announced on the Runescape homepage, and I curiously opened the wardrobe that was the Login Screen into my personal Narnia. I walked to Falador, did the Easter event(poorly, I might add. It must of taken me 3 and a half hours to do it.) and left thoroughly amazed. I came out with my chicken suit and proudly paraded around Lumbridge in my attire, calling those who didn't have it yet noobs and other insults, until I demanded pay for walking them to Falador, so they too, could have this chicken suit. Most laughed at me, called me a noob, and teleported to Falador. As a reward for taking somebody to the Easter Event, someone gave me a steel dagger instead of cash. This person, who I would know for about two weeks before he mysteriously stopped logging in, would change my perception of what Runescape really was and how everything worked. His name, as far as I can remember, was Lishiriono101.

When I met Lishiriono, I was still a level 3, with probably 30-40 mining and 20-30 smithing. He asked if I was a skiller. I had no idea what that was, so I said no, they're dumb. He agreed, and we both went combat training. We had about 14 conversations in all, but he taught me a lot about the nuances of the game, and what I should do to have good goals. He introduced me to most of the other skills, and gave me over 10k to let me buy some bones to get 10 prayer. I learned how to make online friends from him too. I honestly didn't even know how to add him the first time I met him.

After he quit, I continued training combat, mining, and smithing. It went like this from around April 20th to Christmas. This was my first year of Runescape. Didn't really achieve much, considering I had 40-50 Mining, 30-40 Smithing, and a combat level of around 30, but in my eyes, I was the best RS player there was.

RuneScape - 2008

2008 was... odd. It introduced a whole lot of changes to RS, but I didn't really notice them that much at all. My addiction to the game surely didn't waver, as I still played around 4 hours a day, but the game was beginning to lose that spark I had found in my introduction to the game. It was changing, and in my view, not for the better, Free trade didn't effect me, but I didn't really like any new content added to the game, even though I(as a F2P player)  didn't get to do them all. I tried out most of the aspects of the game, such as pking, skilling, and just plain socializing, and decided I was bored with it all, and quit.

WorldScape - 2009

I played for another 9 months after January 1st, and again, through Matt, who had been introduced to it by the old mod Ron, I found another extremely addictive game. I registered on September 2nd, 2008, a little while after my brother, Banjo Hick, registered.

This game truly changed me in ways I still, to this day, find. I became more patient, my grammar was impeccable, and I learned better social skills than I had previously. I logged on, in the same fashion as I had on Runescape, using the handle Serguy3, and found a world that I truly agreed with. Faster everything, and nobody was really all that poor, something I had an issue with on RS, despite not spending any cash. I focused on combat skills, and within a month, I had 100 Strength, defense, and Attack. My first post was a horrible guide on how to get to 172 combat. I was 121 CB at the time and thought I knew it all, so I made it, expecting applause from all. Instead Flame told me in a PM it was kinda horrible and suggested in the post that I put dragons in somewhere.

Then, I met Hubby and Mooshu. Neither are really corners of the community anymore, but back then, they were. I developed a friendship with both and it was eventually confided in me that Hubby was hacking and giving rares to Mooshu(Which explained his outrageous wealth). We all went into this kind of trimutive where I pked, Hubby hacked, and Mooshu got us into clans. However, I(for reasons I can't really remember, probably a slow day of drama) revealed to Volcanic Me in a IM chat that Hubby had been actively hacking the game for rares for a while. Other things, such as Jeremy being Eon9 were revealed, something that  got him banned later on, were told too, but Hubby was the main topic. he was banned, and I never really saw from him again.

Anyways, I played the game to its fullest, became integrated within DZ, became a co-owner at a time that now evades me. I eventually got bored of my Main, and so created Serguys_Pure on May 1st, 2009. I excelled on that account, becoming a Rune Pure and absolutely destroying Chaos to get my old rank back after having it taken away. I beat him 3/3 as was the requirement, and assumed my rightful throne once more. I played on that account until June 9th, when a "hacker" named Hex reset my account, ip banned me from the game, and was never seen again.(I've made my guess at Jeremy doing this, Hex had said "Don't run your mouth, kid." This was something that Jeremy had said to me on multiple occasions.

I stayed around on the forums for a little while longer, but eventually got banned for promoting a server a bunch of ex-WSB players had created together.

The Silab Days - 2009

After being banned I drifted through server after sever trying to find another server that I truly liked as much as WS. I didn't find one, but I found one close enough that I was satisfied with. It was called Lippscape. I came in, probably 45 minutes after its launch, and helped the owner stop a spam brigade that had come in. He thanked me by making me co-owner.(I know, not the best thing to do in his position, but it turned out okay.) I immediately put up the facade of being a 16 child hacker prodigy who knew his way around a trojan virus.(An absolute lie. I barely understand Python and CSS, let alone coding viruses.) I held up there for about two months before I decided things weren't really that good there, as all I really did was talk about binary code and IP ban people I didn't like.

Back to Runescape - 2010 - 2012

I, after quitting private servers for good, went back to Runescape for another 3 years this time. I still had a shitty account, so I basically trained the entire 3 years. I didn't pk at all during these times. I merched, skilled, and socialized, and formed a short lived merching clan where I made ~15m. I used this money to re-finance my shitty bank and starting investing in actual things. I ended up with about 20m by the end of September 2010. I quit again because I felt the game had lost meaning to me.

I came back around July 1st, 2010. This was my most played month of Runescape ever. I became a member for 28 days. My goal? 99 Woodcutting. I had 70 at the time. I played for 15 hours a day, from July 1st to 27th, and got the 99. For those who don't want to do the math: 420 hours. That's about 17.5 days. Yes, I played Runescape for half of a month. I quit following the 99 and didn't come back, saving intermittent returns to do events, until May 2012. After Summer came, I played every day for 8 hours at a time, to finally finish my goals and be done with it all. I finished somewhere in August and quit immediately. I gave away all my cash and items, and said good bye to anyone I thought was worth the message. I will never go back(As I think it's now a bad game, even in comparison to what it was mid-summer), and I don't think I'll ever have an urge to play again either. I've finished any goals I've had in my 5 years of play, and feel that I have nothing left to either do or prove to anybody else.

There. That's what I've done in the past 5 years, since I was introduced to Runescape on some day in March. I feel that I would be happier right now if I hadn't ever tried Runescape. With this, I can honestly say I know my past and can move on to more addictive but less destructive sites, such as Reddit.

In the end, I leave you with one image to truly represent what I've experienced here:
